1976: Dr Herbert Hopkins and the Man in Black

Written by theunexplained.org

Who or what are the men in black? Are they Government officials, figments of people's imaginations, or entities from out of the UFO phenomenon? During September 1976, psychologist Dr Herbert Hopkins was assisting a UFO group in Maine, USA, when he suffered a bizarre encounter with a strange man.

One evening Hopkins received a telephone call from someone who claimed he was a New Jersey ufologist who was interested in the case. He asked Hopkins if he could meet and discuss the matter. Dr Hopkins agreed, and the man said he would call round right away. As Hopkins walked from the telephone to turn on an outside light, he caught sight of someone climbing the steps. Amazed, Hopkins insists there was no possibility of the man getting from a telephone to his house in just a few seconds.

The man wore a black suit with a white shirt, a tie, hat and shoes. All his clothing looked brand new, and the complete outfit resembled that of an undertaker. Like others who have experienced contact with MIB, Hopkins' natural reactions were subdued or controlled. Even when the visitor took off his hat and revealed a completely bald head, then smeared the lipstick he was wearing, the psychologist carried on discussing the case as if everything was normal. Eventually, the visitor left after complaining of a loss of energy.

Several days later an even more bizarre MIB experience befell Dr Hopkins' son and daughter-in-law, quashing any suggestions that the doctor's stories were the result of a mental breakdown.
