I had my first and only ghost experience about 10 years ago when I was 12 years old. Fortunately since then I have never seen a ghost. I call it the scariest moment of my life, until now I still have a clear memory of what happened that night. I am not afraid to tell it to my friends whenever the topic of ghosts comes up in conversations.
Maybe I am proud to experience a ghost, it's a different high anyway to cut to the chase I will now related that experience and it goes like this.
Me and my younger sister was watching television one night, it was not yet that late about 7:45 pm as my mom told us not to forget to brush our teeth. My sister fell asleep on the couch and I decided to go to the bathroom and brush my teeth so I can watch my favorite cartoon uninterrupted.
As I was brushing my teeth I saw a figure on the mirror crossed at my back, I thought it was my mom so I yelled "mom stop scaring me", then my mom answered back downstairs "I'm not scaring you honey, I'm washing the dishes here at the kitchen why what's wrong?"
Before I could answer my mom back I saw the figure walk away to the hallway of the second floor with a floating movement, wearing a white silk dress and long black hair.
I screamed for my mom and started crying. I woke up with my mother and father right beside me, they told me that I just had a bad dream but I know it was real alright.
Since then my mom and dad always told me that it's just my imagination playing tricks on me and I believed them.
Since then years have passed by and I am now in college staying at a dorm near our university, last year I went home for thanksgiving and I had a talk with my father and mother.
They asked me if I remember that time that I think I saw a ghost when I was younger, I told them "yes the memory still stands in my mind". You know what they told me afterwards? They said to me that the ghost really exists in our house and both my mom and dad started seeing them the day we moved there when I was still a baby.
The ghost according to them was the former resident of our house who died of old age alone and sad. The ghost somehow never hurt our family and acted like our guidance and was good to us my mom told me.
Since then I realized that not all ghosts or spirits are meant to be frightened about, they may be revisiting places that they spent a lot of time when they are alive.
But still the thought of that experience still makes my body hair stands out whenever I remember that episode in my life.
