My mom is fond of talking about ghosts and other paranormal beings she usually sees. She tells about "the others" as if they were just our nextdoor neighbors or worse, a part of the family. Seeing these ghosts has already been a norm to her.
It all started when she was seven-years old. It was just like any ordinary rainy day, she said. She just woke up to take a bath before eating breakfast and get ready for school. The coldness of their house seemed different that time. But forced to hasten, she took her towel She hung her head and walked, headed towards the shower. When she lifted her head, she was so shocked to see a pale, lady in white with long black hair and no eyeballs. That was her first frightening experience to see ghosts.
I love hearing those creepy stories from my mom. I used to imagine myself being a ghost buster or probably a dead whisperer, but nevertheless, I'm still scared to see one. I never thought that someday I will be able to tell a scary story myself from my own experience.
Me and my girl friends enjoy swimming at night. We search for resorts that we haven't been to yet, whether it is located near or out of town. A friend of mine suggested that we ride all the way from the city to a rural province where a paradise-looking resort awaits us. After I asked permission from my mother, I packed my bag excitedly. But before we took off, my mom reminded me never to leave the company of my friends or to be alone even for a second. She said that there might be hostile paranormal beings that haunt the resort we'll be staying in. I tried to remember what she said, but because of too much fun with my friends I easily forgot her warning.
Before we soaked ourselves in the cold water we decided to go for a walk. It was like an enchanted forest. It felt like we were in an air-conditioned room because it was so cold. Trees and flowers were placed in each side of the trail. It was really a paradise. A calm and serene environment.
The girls and I were chattering when I noticed that my shoelace was untied. Thinking that it won't take a while, I stopped to tie it. After doing so, I realized that I was left behind, alone! Actually, I didn't mind it at all. But when I'm about to take a step to catch up with the girls I felt something grasped my ankles. Though afraid to look what it is that made me unable to walk, I took the risk to glance. And there it was! A girl, wearing a white dress, lying in the path of the resort. More than that, her face was filled with blood. And though she wears white, it was filthy, as if she came from the grave with all the dirt in it. That was already a big shocker. But what's worse is that she called my name in a very shivering manner, asking for help.
I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs so that my friends would come to rescue me from this horror, yet not even a whisper would come out. I can't even remember how I got to escape from her grasp. When I told my friends about the incident, neither one of us wanted to swim or be left alone. Since then, seeing paranormal beings have become a norm to me, just like my mom.
