Bathroom On The 14th Floor

There are these two girls who work in my building. Although we don't work in the same company and our offices are on different floors, their haunted story sure did travel fast among the 32 floors of our building.

I'll call them Michelle and Dana for the story's sake.

Michelle and Dana are co-workers and their office is located on the 14th floor of the building. Of course the building construction plan skipped the 13th floor out of superstition, but still, strange things keep happening on Michelle and Dana's floor. I don't think ghosts are that easily fooled into thinking that the 13th floor is really the 14th floor just by renaming it.

So the story goes that Michelle asks Dana to go to the bathroom with her, as girls like to go to the bathroom in groups. Dana tells her that she can go ahead and that she will follow right after.

After wrapping up a bit of work, Dana goes to the bathroom. She's expecting Michelle to be there but Dana doesn't see anyone. Dana heads straight to the bathroom mirror to preen instead. In the mirror's reflection, Dana sees a shadow and some movement in one of the bathroom stalls at the end. She immediately assumes that it's Michelle in there and thinks nothing of it.

After a few minutes, Dana wonders why Michelle still has not come out of the bathroom stall yet. She calls out to Michelle and starts conversing with her. Dana asks her if she's okay in there and makes a joke about if she has fallen into the toilet.

No answer from Michelle. But she does hear a soft, pitter-pattering sound being made on the floor. Dana turns around and walks towards the bathroom stall where she thinks Michelle is. As she gets nearer, she sees a pair of feet from under the bathroom stall's door. Oddly, the feet didn't have any shoes on. Even odder, they were the feet of an old woman. They were slowly tapping the floor, one foot after the other, making that soft pitter-pattering sound.

Dana screams in fright and runs to the bathroom exit. She runs into Michelle who asks Dana what was wrong. Dana quickly recounts to Michelle what she saw in the bathroom.

Dana is puzzled why Michelle isn't surprised or the least bit frightened. It turns out that Michelle has always known about that old woman's ghost in the bathroom. Michelle has always been able to see ghosts ever since she was a kid.

When Michelle went to the bathroom, she immediately felt the presence of the old woman and headed out. Michelle went back to Dana's desk to discourage her from going to the bathroom but Dana had already left.

Stories about the old woman quickly circulated their office and the rest of the building. One janitor said that the old woman died on that floor a long time ago but no one is sure of what reason. There is more to find out about the old woman and as of now, no one uses the bathroom on the 14th floor.
